Acrylic and moulding paste on
A4 illustration board (processed)

This is a practice painting I’ve been playing with since early March. It started as an orange stigma and petals in shades of green, on green illustration board. Later, I painted over it in light rose and oxide black. And finally, in deeper shades of rose.
Two versions of the painting were photographed on magazine pages. Below is the light rose edit I’m using as wallpaper for my phone.

Outtakes: The collage below shows the edits that nearly made it to the main presentation. This time, I really couldn’t make up my mind. The final deep pink version appears in this one.

As always, I wish you a lovely day. Thank you so much for viewing.

Thank you. The photo with the model is my favourite piece of art that I created. I use it as the screensaver of my laptop. That makes the best kind of art. When you’re not really trying to make things look perfect.

Thanks for visiting Darling Poacherette. This one is a collage. It’s very complex the way I created it. I literally took one week to make that thing. (Only a few minutes to write the poetry, though). But I wanted to have a modern look to the Shakespearean style. Do you have any old paper magazines at home?
Tear them up and you don’t have to glue them together. Move the pieces around and take a photograph. Crop it and then start editing in your app of choice. And you have an instant photo for your blog.

I love the strong colours. It makes it very vibrant. I had a look at some of your other work as well. You are very talented. I look at it and think I could try it, but it never works out as well as yours. I saw your post on charcoal but when I went to comment, it had disappeared. Regardless, I enjoyed looking at two others, so it was fun anyway Thank you

Hiya Jackie, Thank you so much for popping by to say hello. I am very happy you like my projects. It is all in the wrist, I like to tell people. Also, as we can’t control the outcomes, it’s good to try a lot of different styles. I appreciate your support and wish you a lovely week ahead.

Hmmmmmm sherbet! peachy and rosy…but…one question…Why did you name it Corona?
I have some ideas but just thought I’d ask.
Titles intrigue me
xxoo.

There is some Game off Thrones themed jewelry – necklace and tiara – on Maggie in the collage photo. That is when I noticed that the petals in the painting resembled the sun’s corona. The coincidence was too striking to ignore so I named the painting “Corona.”

I loved your work, which reminded me of a close-up of a butterfly’s wing. Strikingly beautiful.

Ok I’m a sucker for pink so I love the deep pink version…at first I thought I liked the Orange Silk one but when I saw the deep pink it won me over!!! Gorgeous!! Is that you in the pictures? Whoever it is that necklace is amazing, it looks as if it’s exploding…I love it!!
I wanted to tell you I bought the Serrapeptase at Whole Foods, don’t know if you have any there, for my tingling feet (plantar fasciitis, I self-diagnosed). I’ve been taking it for two weeks now and it does seem to be helping! I swear it helped me the first day I took it but that doesn’t seem possible…it’s an anti-inflammatory. Serrapeptase is a proteolytic (protein destroying) enzyme from bacteria native to the digestive system of silkworms. It is the enzyme responsible for dissolving a silkworm’s cocoon. Traditionally, serrapeptase has been used for its anti-inflammatory properties. Today, it is marketed as a joint health supplement.

Deb, thank you so much for the lovely compliment. The girl in the green dress is a magazine cutout I used in the collage. You can see it in the exploding necklace montage. It looks like someone is sitting there, which is exactly the illusion I was going for. The necklace reminds me of Game of Thrones and it was a coincidence that I flipped over the pages I was resting the painting on to see the similarity with the painting. I should dry to get a necklace like that even though I couldn’t drive while wearing it. It’s perfect for protecting my personal space, though. Thanks for the update. I’m still trying out new supplements (This is my second month in) and the combination I’m using so far has been working.

Oh you are so welcome! Lol, you’re so funny too…I love the idea of the necklace protecting your personal space…that’s an excellent selling feature!! It does look as if someone is sitting there.
I’m so glad to hear that your supplements seem to be working, that’s wonderful news!! Wishing you as inspired week ahead!! xo

Thanks, mGm. As you can imagine, I’ve been downing berry soda since late July. So naughty, but in my defence, I’ve swapped it out for chocolate. xo P.S. Your post, Coffee + Heart is breaking all sorts of records. Gold stars all around. xoxo

It’s not naughty at all. In fact, you inspired me to have a wintry version – blueberry and rosehip tea. It’s not quite the same, I assure you.
On Coffee + Heart, it really is your post my dear. Thank you ever so much for the encouragement and hosting. You are the best xx

Please don’t be modest. Your photography was awesome. And as for blueberry and rosehip soda, the mother of a colleague made some for me last winter. I don’t dare try it myself. I am, however, going to try a shrimp curry in an hour or so. (Have been gagging for some since yesterday.) Enjoy your evening. 💕💕
