Landscape

Gouache on collage

After ruining two paintings in one week (the collage under this being the second), I had an epiphany. In Chapter 5, the Princess climbs to the top of the mountain to get a clear view of the landscape. However, she realises that she cannot, on her own, ever get to the bottom of it. I decided to paint that.

Thank you for that compliment, Heather. Even if I say so myself, it’s a satisfactory result after spectacularly ruining the collage under it.

Mon, you darling. I’m thrilled, however, I’ve always passed my nomination on to someone who needs encouragement and peer support so I’m happy to do the same with this one. Thank you as always for your warm support.

Oh, that’s so kind of you 🙂 Yes, if you don’t have the time (or if you aren’t the award-kind of person) then indeed pass the award to someone who you think deserves it 🙂

Ahh… Thank you. I have done and want to do larger paintings but they’re not practical unless I have the space to store them before and after. I consider these smaller ones practice. I would like to reproduce or improve on them on wall sized photographs in future. It’s definitely something to look forward to.

Hello Sis, Thanks for this lovely comment. I admire people who can draw well. It takes a lot of patience and skill. I have only done one post about technique and it was about masking tape. I never thought anyone would be interested in a technique post, but I would be very happy to do one for you.

Hello my sister! I really want to know about painting, sis. In my opinion, drawing and painting have a little differents. The same are the art of them. Sure, you should post n share about it, sister, he..he. I’d be really happy to learn that from you. Writing and art are something that we can combine in this life. Thanks so much for your great response. Can’t wait for that.

Thank you very much for your support and encouragement. I’ll work on that for my next painting. I have a few already scheduled, so it will take some time before it appears, but I will let you know when it is to be published.

Don’t mention it, sis. Oh I was worried just now, if my reply didn’t send well to you, sis. My comment didn’t appear on your comment form, LOL! Okay, take your time, sis. Please do it when you have free time, thank you so much for your willingness to help. I really appreciate it. God bless you, sister! 🙂

The landscape is so beautiful, perhaps she should stay up on the mountain for a while. Then a brave prince might come find her and they could descend together. Or, she might find the surroundings so pleasant on the top of the mountain – that wonderful view, the clean air, the quiet – that she may want to decide to stay.

Either way, I hope you feel better and have a wonderful weekend!

I meant to say as well that I appreciated the thoughts you added to the painting. I hope to be less groggy next time. I hope you’re still having a restful evening.

Thank you very much, JC. I am feeling a bit better, thank you for asking. The happy trees aren’t there because the princess is bewildered. The entire (vaguely hinted at) situation is bizarre from her perspective. Have a great weekend. x

Hello Akiraa, I have always passed on nominations, as I have posts in my queue at any given time and will end up seriously needing to rearranging two months’ work of scheduled posts to accommodate each one. I’m organised and rarely spontaneous because of that, but I am happy for your kind support.
